It’s officially less than a month until Christmas (or two more paycheques if you’re counting), so I can finally stop decor-shaming myself for having my holiday decorations up since mid-November.
I am a holiday MAXIMALIST. I put coconut eggnog in my morning coffee. I make wreaths. I have a mood board for my wrapping paper that members of my household are forced to follow. But when it comes to actual aesthetics I enjoy holiday decor that looks like it’s “barely there.” Existing in the background as if someone (me) didn’t intentionally cut branches off pine trees in the nearest park.
I also can’t justify spending a ton of money on decor that’s seasonal, especially in the most expensive month of the year. So I guess being broke is a ‘look,’ and it’s one that I’m calling modern & minimal holiday decor.

Great if you live in an apartment and don’t have space for a full tree. Bonus if you live in a cold climate where pine trees are literally everywhere.

Find a big fancy one and suspend it from the wall.

Get a fresh tree if you can! So lush it doesn’t even need ornaments.
