Welcome! I’m Carmen. Founder, Principal Designer, and human behind Carmen Javier Co.
In 2017, I initially started carmenjavier.co as an interior design blog documenting my journey designing my first apartment. It was through this creative process that I honed in on my approach to design, and discovered a signature aesthetic that is a true reflection of me. Before long, what started as a passion project grew, and led me to leave my career in tech to pursue interior design whole-heartedly. In the years since, I have been a very lucky gal to continue my design practice as my full time passion and career, relaunching Carmen Javier Co as an interior design firm in 2020.
While the creative aspect of design comes intuitively to me, it’s grounded in meticulous processes that stem from my corporate background. I hold both a bachelor’s degree in business from SFU, and an interior design certificate from Parsons School of Design in New York. These earlier years of formal education provide a unique blend of creative, technical and management skills that lend themselves well to client-facing projects.

"My favourite thing about being a designer is being part of these life-changing, milestone moments for people. These days, owning (and even renting!) property is something that we spend most of our lives working towards. The fact that clients trust me with their homes is a huge honour!
I often stay in touch with my clients long after our project has wrapped, and seeing them make memories in their homes for the years to come is an incredible privilege."
I can't say enough about Carmen and the work she's done with our home.
