Confession: the post I had originally scheduled for today was a dark & moody, monochrome-black-type of inspiration board. Very appropriate for winter, very cozy. However… sometimes I see a single image, and it resonates with me so much that I must go down the rabbit hole of exploring that spark of inspiration until it becomes a fully realized concept. This is what happened yesterday during a lazy Sunday morning Pinterest scroll.
And so I decided that since this is my corner of the internet, if dreaming of rattan furniture, dried palms, and linen pillows is what got me out bed this winter morning, then that’s what I’ll share. This blog is about sharing my inner design dialogue in the hopes it will inspire your own creativity. Screw SEO and seasonal trends! (And if you’re reading this thinking “but that dark & moody moment speaks to me! Let me read it!”, know that it has been rescheduled for a later week!).
A few things anchor this effortless, casual look. Furniture is low to the ground, encouraging max relaxation and lounge time. Nothing looks too stuffy or over-styled. The color palette is neutral, with layers of natural materials that are native to warm environments (think jute, rattan, linen, and cotton). Interest is created with just a few thoughtful items like a sculptural chair, a quirky side table, or a few collected objects.
